‘For my Colony series of work I have used fishing ropes and other cast-off fishing tackle to create a colony of ‘cocoons’ designed to lie or hang as if waiting for new life to emerge. These forms symbolize the sense of change now brewing in nature and also the possibility of new life being nurtured somehow in our creations, or in spite of them.’
